A Double flowered form of H.torquatus was found in the wild in the Balkans and has been in cultivation for many years.

A semi-deciduous species of moderate height, it has smaller flowers, reddish brown on the back and lime green on the inside.

Does well in shaded areas beneath deciduous trees.

More of a collectors plant because of it’s size.
