Helleborus x hybridus 'Single Hybrids'

Our collection of Single H x hybridus hybrids has been evolving for many years. We wanted to be able to produce hybrids that were of good clear colours on strong stems and which were more upright facing. So many of the  early hybrids were real “nodders” and we were always having to turn the flowers up to see what was in them. One reason the plants nod is to protect them from the winter elements. Rain or snow while the plants are pollinating isn’t ideal. However it is nice to be able to see what is hiding under the petals.
